Hanoi, Vietnam – 2010 Global OCWC Meeting

Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre in Hanoi

A few days in Hanoi with great hospitality were certainly not enough.  A quick run thru the old city, getting advice from a young gentleman for good silk and scarfs, some beautiful lacquer art and a brief visit to the water puppet theater was a short but memorable experience.  Oh, yes and then there is the 5 o’clock afternoon beer. Selfmade, available on the street and with the trusted advice of a local I jumped into the Vietnamese beer joy. And as a german with appreciation for good beer it certainly was  worth the try!  So if you are ever in the afternoon in Hanoi walking the streets and you see a glass of beer, rather a cup though, try it….it will expand you beer palette!  Staying at Melia Hanoi as a conference hotel in terms of facility was fairly good and the staff was very accommodating and very friendly.  So overall a good experience.
